Wagyu Beef

WAGYU is the most sought after meat in the World. It is extremely expensive. The Wagyu cattle originated in Korea. During WWII the Japanese took possession of these animals and the best of the best is only found in Japan. Unlike the USA where we grade meat as PRIME (the best) followed by CHOICE down to lowest normally sold in a supermarket of SELECT, the WAGYU is graded solely on the TENDERNESS of the meat. These scores range from the most tender of 10 down to a tenderness score of 1. An animal capable of creating a score of 10 and its offspring are NOT released from Japan. We at Skeenah Gap Farms have acquired Wagyu with TENDERNESS scores of “9”; “7” and “6”.

We presently use these animals in our reproduction program to make available the best beef of both countries at the lowest possible cost. We utilize our best Angus cows and heifers and we cross breed them artificially with a Wagyu that is scored 9, 7, or 6 depending upon the best combination results.

GAR Sure Fire

Like all of the Beef produced at Skeenah Gap Farms these animals are GRASS & HAY FED and then are GRAIN FINISHED. Our (F1) Steers and Heifers, Under 30 Months of Age, grade Prime or Choice at a minimum. To differentiate these animals from their parents they are (F1) and for us we attach the name of WANGUS to these animals. These meats are always fresh and never frozen. USDA states that meat is not frozen until it reaches the temperature of 27 degrees (not 32 – as we think of as freezing.)

These Animals are available as ½ or Whole. We sell them to you direct and we take the animal to the processor – FREE of charge for transportation.
